I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “A Risky Detour.” Leslie Koh wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from 2 Timothy 4:1–5; with the key verse, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season.”, 2 Timothy 4:2. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
During my walk with The Savior, I had many opportunities to share God’s Word. The Apostle Paul was right when he spoke to Timothy about a time “will come when people do not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passion,” 2 Timothy 4:3. The time is now as it was in Timothy’s time.
The Bible reminds us to be always ready “in season and out of season” to share The Gospel (2 Timothy 4:2). Take a “risky detour.” Who knows, God may be giving you a divine opportunity to talk to someone about Him today!
Reflect:
Whom might you meet today? How might there be an opportunity to talk about Jesus? How can you go out of your way to share the good news in a bold but loving, sensitive way?
Prayer:
Jesus, teach me to see the doors You’ve opened for me to share Your love, and give me the courage to tell others about You.
My Prayer for You:
I pray that God will open doors for you to share God’s love and give you the courage to tell others about Him.
