Getting Rid of Intruders

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Removing the Intruder.” Elisa Morgan wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Ephesians 5:25–33, with the key verse, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”, Ephesians 5:25. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

The intruders God is asking me to address to help others are stress, fear, shame, and anxiety. God’s words relieve a lot of stress and fear in a world that appears to be collapsing around us. When you preach The Gospel, shame and anxiety bring spiritual relief. Their trespasses and sins are forgiven. Knowing this, people turn their lives, hearts, and souls over to Jesus.

My doubles partner and his wife removed these intruders from my life. In doing so, I became a child of God.

Reflect:

What “intruder” might God be asking you to address to help another? How might you allow someone to help rid your life of certain “intruders”?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for the gift of Your Son, who’s removed the intruder of sin from my life and reconciled me to You!

My Prayer for You:

I pray that God’s Son removes the intruder of sin from your life and reconciled you to God.
