I start every day with God, reading daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Inside the Fire.” Jennifer Benson Schuldt wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Daniel 3:12–18 with the key verse, “I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed.” Daniel 3:25. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments and to witness.

The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego is a famous bible story. As a child, I love to hear it repeatedly, but I never got the real treasure of this story. As a Christian, I understand its meaning and intent. It is all about Jesus coming to our rescue. Jesus is with us when we face intimidation and trials. When pressured or threatened to give in, we don’t have to be afraid. We may not know how or when God will help us, but we know He’s with us and gives us the strength to stay faithful to Him through every “fire” we endure.

Reflect:

Why is the supernatural comfort of God’s presence encouraging to you? How can you support others who may be facing opposition?

Prayer:

Dear God, fill me with Your Spirit so that I can persevere when I feel pressured to give in. I want to honor You by standing strong.

My Prayer for Us:

Dear God, fill us with Your Spirit so that we can persevere when we feel pressured to give in. We want to honor You by standing firm.
