I start every day with God, reading daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Space for Me.” Tim Gustafson wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Mark 3:13–19 with the key verse, “Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.” Mark 3:13. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments and to witness.

I relate to the veteran mentioned in the Daily Bread Article. I felt the same way. However, through the efforts of many people who were concern about me and their prayers, I put my faith in Jesus. I know others whom I want to talk to about God’s love for them, but I need to get involved with my neighborhood first.

Please, don’t write anyone off as too “bad” for Jesus. He said, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32). He has plenty of space for the tough cases, people like you and me.

Reflect:

Who do you know that you think is unlikely to give their life to Jesus? How might you invite them to consider who Christ is and the space He has for them?

Prayer:

Dear Father, thank You that salvation is available to anyone who puts their faith in Jesus.

My Prayer for Us:

Dear Father, thank You that salvation is available to anyone who puts their faith in Jesus.
