I start every day with God, reading daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Morning Mist.” Jennifer Benson Schuldt wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Isaiah 44:9–11, 21–23 with the key verse, “I have swept away your offenses . . . like the morning mist.” Isaiah 44:22. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments and witness.
This article is all about God’s love, grace, and forgiveness. The question if it is possible to abuse God’s grace? In my opinion, no, God offers us grace freely without any strings attached. We all have sinful habits, and there is always a chance we will fall into those same habits. All we can do is to confess our sins with true repentance and pray for God’s intervention. He will cleanse us “heart and soul,” and we experience His forgiveness. Psalms 51:2 “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!”
Reflect:
How is it possible to abuse God’s grace? What steps can you take to break free of sinful habits and experience His forgiveness?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for Your gracious presence in my life. I don’t want to live in habitual sin. Help me to feel the freedom that comes when I confess my sin, and You erase it completely.
My Prayer for Us:
Dear God, thank You for Your gracious presence in our lives. We don’t want to live in habitual sin. Help us to feel the freedom that comes when we confess our sins, and You erase them completely
